ISLAMABAD: The upper house of the Senate has approved the Zainab Alert Bill 2020 on punishment for offenders.A meeting of the Senate chaired by Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani was held in which Senator Azam Swati introduced the Zenb alert bill. The opposition proposed amendments to the bill, saying it should include three more provisions.The opposition, expressing reservations on the bill, demanded the inclusion of tales and death sentences.Senator Javed Abbasi said the bill imposes a lower life sentence, if it is justified that he should be convicted of abusing or killing a child.Senator Mushtaq Ahmed said why the sentence was not included in the bill, the inclusion of the detainees under section 302A is a global pressure to end the killings but we will not allow that to happen.Siraj-ul-Haq said that in the past few months, 3,000 children were raped, this is not a political issue but a question for all of us children. The murder conviction is already incompetent. Yes, this is a killing of justice, this section should include section 302 and section 201.ALSO READ: 5 bills passed by the National Assembly, including Zenab Alert.Chairman Senate said there is a method of amendment to the bill, let the bill be approved now, you will bring the amendments we will approve.Shafqat Mahmood also said that there is a lot of talk that has some weight, but currently pass the bill as per procedure, add amendments later.Senator Faisal Javed said child abusers should be hung up and hanged, amendments will continue. At this time, the passage of the bill is inevitable. Eighteen amendments occur everywhere.Senator Maulvi Faiz Mohammed said that this is a problem of the slaughterers; if anyone kills someone, he is guilty of the Shari'ah, include the slaughterers for sexual abuse and murder.After the debate, the Senate approved a majority vote bill, which resulted in a law to recover, respond and alert the kidnapped children.Under the bill, children will be sentenced to a maximum of 14 years and at least 7 years in prison for crimes. The National Commission for the Rights of the Child will be renamed as 'Zenb Alert, Response and Recovery Agency'.According to the bill, any child abduction case must be completed within three months of the case being registered. The police will be obliged to take action within two hours of reporting the missing or abducted incident.
