KABUL: US President Donald Trump has contacted Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the head of the Taliban negotiating team.Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Trump said the Taliban leader had a productive conversation. He also talked about Afghan peace talks in China. We agreed on non-violence in Afghanistan.Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in his tweet, "The president of the United States has spoken to Abdul Ghani Baradar, the political deputy of the Islamic Emirate, over the phone."The telephonic contact between President America and Mullah Baradar came the next day after the Taliban announced the ceasefire. The Taliban's announcement sparked uncertainty over their upcoming talks with the Afghan government March 10.
